Disregard for Human Life...

My God! What depths have we sunk to when getting a bargain is more important than a human life? A WalMart employee at a Long Island store was trampled to death when he opened the doors yesterday morning and 2000 Black Friday shoppers pushed past him. The reports said that people were just stepping over his body as they were running into the store to get a deal. This is so sad that it just makes me cry. Can you imagine how that man's family must feel? I mean what is wrong with this picture people? Have we placed so much emphasis on the material things of this world that we're willing to take a life? That seeing a man laying on the ground will not deter us from our shopping frenzy? It just sickens me. That's all I can say.

That's the problem, nobody bothered to look down at what they were stumbling over. I partly blame the animals that stormed that store and mostly blame Walmart and the other big box stores for causing the frenzy in the first place. Everybody knows that the really good items on Black Friday will be gone within 30 mins, if that long, and if you don't race to the department you won't get anything after waiting how many hours! Retailers prey on the material weaknesses of people who are materialistic, which is most of us. They need to end Black Friday sales and find something more human to do instead.
